Gansai Tambi Graphite Colors are a new type of art material made by blending graphite and color pigments in a unique ratio. They feature the matte texture characteristic of graphite and deep, subdued colors. When applied thickly, they can be burnished to create a metallic luster.

They boast excellent lightfastness and can be used for all kinds of artworks, including illustrations, brush lettering, calligraphy, and paintings.

★What should I use to create a metallic luster?

There are no specific recommended tools for burnishing, but
we use the following tools when creating our works:

・Agate burnisher (an art tool with an agate stone attached)
・Butter knife
・Spoon
・Fingernail or fingertip

 ★Tips for burnishing

・Burnishing with a pointed object can scratch and damage the surface, so it's easier to use a tool with a flat surface.

・If the paint is thinned too much, it becomes difficult to achieve a luster. It's easier to burnish when the paint is mixed thickly enough so that some dark, graphite-like areas remain.

※If applied too thickly, resin may remain on the surface and harden when drying, so please adjust the consistency accordingly.
