Description
[Personalization Available]
This is an authentic brush pen with a weasel hair brush tip.
The barrel is made from deer antler, dyed using ancient dyeing techniques by Mr. Yukio Yoshioka, the fifth-generation head of "Senshi Yoshioka," who strives to recreate traditional Japanese colors using plant dyes.
In China, indigo is described as "the grass that dyes blue," suggesting that indigo refers to the material for dyeing.
In Japan, on the other hand, it is used to refer to both the color dyed from the leaves of Polygonum tinctorium (Japanese indigo) and the indigo plant itself, which serves as a dye.
Japanese indigo thrives in moist soil and is resistant to flooding, so it grows abundantly in the lower reaches of the Yoshino River in Tokushima Prefecture, which is famous for its wild waters. This indigo is called Awa-Ai.
This time, deer antler was dyed indigo using this Awa-Ai.
Comes in a paulownia wood box, perfect for gifting.
