This is an authentic brush pen with a weasel hair tip.
The barrel is made of pear wood, the same material as the "wood block" which is vital for sumi ink makers.
Sumi ink balls, which are made by kneading soot, animal glue, and fragrance, contain a lot of water. Therefore, hard and easy-to-carve pear wood has been traditionally chosen for wood blocks because it does not warp significantly even after absorbing a certain amount of moisture.
